Craftsman made compressors are equally respected by professional air compressor users as well as home users. If there is one thing that can be said about crafts man is the sheer variety of compressors that are offered by them.
Let’s take gallon capacity to start with. The smallest craftsman you could buy is set at one and half gallon, with the highest capacity device being eighty gallons. Devices are available in increments of two and five gallons. Effectively, you name your gallon capacity, there is a good chance that Craftsman can offer something for you.
As compared to the gallon capacity, for some reason most of Craftsman compressors seem to have a higher maximum operating pressure, with the lowest device you could buy set at 135 PSI and topping out at 150 PSI. Given the higher operating pressure, it is not surprising that even the lowest end model of Craftsman gives a SCFM delivery speed of 2 at 90 PSI.
If there is one thing that is lacking in Craftsman is that basic compressors are missing from their offer list. If you want something that is ultra-portable like a one gallon capacity compressor with 100 – 120 PSI, you will find that such options are not present with Craftsman. If you are a home user who is looking for the most basic solution, Craftsman won’t be your choice.
On the plus side, if you are a power user, at home or small business establishment, you will find that the starter models of Craftsman pack a punch despite by their small size. The design principles across all models are elegant and the tank style, which is always vertical, is a good fit for air compressor usage. When compared to other compressor manufactures, the post purchase operating and maintenance cost of craftsman compressors are on the lower side.
